MANCHESTER CITY READY TO SEND SURPRISE MESSAGE TO TOTTENHAM ABOUT HARRY KANE
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that City are prepared to walk away from their long-standing interest in Kane.
It’s stated that City have made on bid so far, of £100million. Daniel Levy wants £150million, and whilst City won’t pay that, they do want to make a second bid soon.
Intriguingly, City chiefs are believed to be ready to tell Tottenham that they won’t continue their pursuit into next summer if a late deal can’t be thrashed out now.
That’s a bit of a surprise message, potentially leaving Tottenham in a strong negotiating position as they know City are desperate to do the deal right now.
Kane turns 29 before the start of next season, and it’s thought that City won’t be going in with a huge offer in a year’s time when the striker’s 30th birthday is on the horizon.
City think now is the right time to land Kane, believing they will get the most out of signing the England star in his prime.
That comes with a cost, and a pretty huge one.
Tottenham don’t want to sell their talismanic striker, even if Kane allegedly fancies making a big move to a title challenger having won nothing with Tottenham.
Kane wasn’t involved as Tottenham beat City 1-0 on Sunday, and it looks like a big move to the Etihad Stadium will have to happen in the next two weeks – or it may not happen at all.
