Marina Granovskaia can sign the next N’Golo Kante for Chelsea with creative transfer strategy
capable of playing in the first-team.
Although Thomas Tuchel has just allowed one of the Blues’ best young players in Billy Gilmour go out on loan, with the Scot making the move to Norwich for the season, the German boss could benefit from nurturing talent ready to make a name for themselves.
Chelsea bought N'Golo Kante after he'd already made a name for himself with Leicester, and the Foxes gained so much from that purchase having bought him from Ligue 2 side Caen for just £5.6million, as they went onto win the Premier League for the first time.
The Blues will therefore want to repeat a similar trick. So, without further ado, here are some of the clubs Chelsea should look to raid with their considerable spending power.
The team’s spine of Bartlomej Dragowski, Nikola Milenkovic, Gaetano Castrovilli and Dusan Vlahovic is bright, and all of those players are under the age of 25.
Chelsea could sign a handful of these players for a similar fee (£32m) – some slightly more, others slightly less - for what they paid for Kante back in 2016, and look how well that transfer worked out.
Chelsea may have missed out on the chance to sign Zambian forward Patson Daka, who signed for Leicester City in the week, but there’s still plenty of talent available to them.
They were also responsible for the emergence of Hungarian playmaker Dominik Szoboszlai, who memorably sent his nation to the European Championships after an amazing individual goal in the final minute against Iceland in November.
Anderlecht
Chelsea signed Romelu Lukaku from Anderlecht in 2011, and although he didn’t hit the ground running at Stamford Bridge, it’s more than fair to say he’s gone onto have a successful career.
The Belgians are known for giving young players a chance, and that trend doesn’t look like changing any time soon.
With promising talent Yari Verschraen, Francis Amuzu, and defensive midfielder, Albert Sambi Lokonga – who is expected to join London rivals Arsenal in the coming weeks – on their books, the Belgians continuously produce future stars, and Chelsea should benefit from monitoring a few of their players’ situations.
