Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has admitted that he is glad to focus on coaching his team now the transfer window has shut.
With purchases like Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Denis Zakaria, the Blues were the biggest spenders during the summer transfer window.
When Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen opted to leave the club last summer, Tuchel was closely involved in selecting targets to construct his team. As a result, he had to quickly bring in defenders.
With Petr Cech and Marina Granovskaia departing, Todd Boehly acted as interim sporting director during the summer, personally overseeing the Blues' transfer business.
It is thought that Boehly will now seek to hire a permanent sporting director in order to help Tuchel and Chelsea with future deals.
Tuchel said that he is content to return to his day job as a coach and concentrate on preparing his team now that the transfer market has closed after Chelsea's 2-1 victory against West Ham on Saturday.
The German responded, "I'm not involved in that, I have to say, when questioned about the search for a sporting director to reduce his workload.
