Personal terms to take ex-Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona to Chelsea have been in place for a fortnight, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner both made the decision to leave the club this transfer window because they were unhappy at Stamford Bridge. Thomas Tuchel must now bolster his assault with a striker.
As a result, there have been some astounding media reports that Chelsea is seriously considering trying to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona and has reportedly made an offer to Brentford for Ivan Toney.
But it appears like Auba will transfer to Stamford Bridge first as rumours surfaced that Chelsea had made significant steps to secure the striker's contract.
Transfer expert Romano told wettfreunde: “I am told that there has been an agreement for his personal terms for two weeks.
“So I can say that the issue is not with the player – the real issue is with Barcelona.”
Chelsea have not yet reached an agreement with Barcelona over a fee for Aubameyang, and it’s understood that the Spanish club are holding out for a fee close to €30 million (£25.3m).
