Roma set 'to terminate' Pedro's contract with his Jose Mourinho comments backfiring
Pedro is closing in on his Roma exit with the Giallorossi happy to terminate his contract in order to complete a move to arch-rivals Lazio.
The Spaniard only joined Roma last summer, making the switch to Serie A after his Chelsea contract expired.
Under Paulo Fonseca, Pedro was a regular in the starting line-up, making 40 appearances in all competitions, scoring six times and registering a further seven assists.
But after Fonseca was replaced by Jose Mourinho, it was quickly determined that he was surplus to requirements at the Stadio Olimpico.
Mourinho was actually the manager that initially brought Pedro to Stamford Bridge in 2015, although he would be sacked just four months later.
Pedro subsequently lifted the lid on the poisonous atmosphere in the final days of Mourinho’s second reign.
