Chelsea fan says, ‘Get Timo Werner out the club,’ on microphone during open training session at Stamford Bridge

A Chelsea supporter caused controversy with a remark about Timo Werner during the club’s open training session at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

The Blues offered fans the opportunity to come and watch their first team train, but the stadium was stunned by one man’s comment.

As the session drew to a close, with most players taking a break in the dugout, a presenter walked around the West Stand Lower with a microphone.

He interviewed the Chelsea faithful with their messages of support audible for the team to hear over the loudspeaker system.

However, one young man said: “Let’s have it right – get Werner out the club.”

At this point the presenter swiftly took the microphone away from him.

Other Chelsea fans reacted angrily, with his words booed loudly by the rest of the West Stand Lower.

One woman in particular stood up and shouted at the man: “You get out, you get out.

“Who do you think you are? Get out.”

The German himself didn’t appear to react as he was shown on Chelsea’s official livestream at the moment the comment was made.

It’s unclear whether he heard it or not.

Regardless, Werner will be hoping to improve his goal record and silence his doubters as he enters his second year at Stamford Bridge.

He admitted he experienced the 'most unluckyseason of his entire career last term as he netted just 12 goals while the stats [expected goals] showed he should have had 20, at least.
