Chelsea announcement imminent as Frenchman has agreed£3, million a-season-deal.

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has agreed a deal to join AC Milan, according to reports in Italy.

The France international, who finished as the Blues’ top scorer in Europe, was linked with a move to AC Milan after accepting a bit-part role behind Timo Werner and Kai Havertz under Thomas Tuchel.

There was not a fan out there that did not believe he would stay at the club, and all indications suggested that he was ready to leave Stamford Bridge and seeks a fresh challenge in the Italian League.

Yet the former Arsenal striker committed his immediate future to the club, having signed a one-year contract extension, which shocked many in the media that firmly believed that he would be leaving the club in the very near future.

But despite the reports that Tuchel could keep him at the club, he now looks set to pack his bags, jump on a plane and head over to Italian football and that is because Sky Italia has Giroud has now agreed a two-year contract with AC Milan worth €3.5 million (£3m) a year plus bonuses.

The report claims that AC Milan are yet to agree a fee with Chelsea, but Giroud is hoping that the club will allow him to leave on a free transfer.

With all the news that we are seeking a new striker, it is not a massive shock to see the Frenchman leave the club over the next few months. And giving him that contract has meant that they could get a few million for the hitman

But fans will wish him all the best if the reports are actually true.
